Voice Command

What exactly is a Voice Command?  Users generally employ a keyboard or mouse to input their data or to make the computer perform a particular task such as a process, a query, or a save.  With a Voice Command you can merely speak your request and the computer springs to life processing your verbal edicts or dictates.  In a normal computer program many clicks of the mouse and confusing navigation through many screens are required to achieve your ultimate desired task. But, with Voice Command you can locate, browse, search, and show Candidate, Client, and Job Order data all from one screen without one single mouse click.

For example, let's say that you wish to perform a search on a candidate.  You would normally have to click on a Search button to open a search screen, enter your key word searches in different input fields, click a control to add your criteria to a holding area, and finally click Search for the search to actually initiate.  With Voice Command you simply say "Search for Visual C++, Programmer" followed by "Submit" and the program springs to life with your search results.  In that same screen, you can also ask the program to "Locate Clients for City Tampa" or "Show Placed Candidates" or "Show Jobs for title fork lifter."  Each command invoked at one screen and each command done without a single key stroke.  There are many other commands that have been programmed into I-Simply Recruit to make your navigation of the program simpler and faster with this new Voice Command technology.

And if you have lots of notes to enter, what better way to do your work more efficiently and quickly than by dictating those notes.

How can we do this?  At most local computer stores such as Staples or Office Depot, you can purchase a program called "Naturally Speaking" for roughly about $99.  With that purchase a microphone, if needed, is also included.  "Naturally Speaking" by Nuance has many navigation commands already built in the system many of which we have implemented in our system to allow verbal direction to specific program screens.  You can visit their website at www.naturallyspeaking.com for more information.

This is a piece of technology that will continue to evolve as the years go by.  The accuracy and sophistication of the Naturally Speaking program will continue to grow and the syntax that will allow ever easier use of I-Simply Recruit will continuously be optimized by Simple Solutions Software.

RSS Feeds:

What is an RSS feed? This is actually a bit of technology that has been around the web for a few years now.  By using a program on your workstation called an aggregator you can add links found on any website that have RSS feeds.  Once added the aggregator program will from time to time check to see if any new changes have been made to the source of the RSS feed at the website where it had been originally found.  If a feed has been updated, the aggregator will display on your workstation the newly changed or added piece of information.  One such aggregator can be found at www.feedreader.com

And it's for free.

How does help you the user of I-Simply Recruit? Simply put you would place a link at your website, which will point to a file continuously updated by our server.  This file will contain the information on all jobs recently opened and posted.  A candidate that may want to be informed of such opportunities from your company will set up an aggregator on their machine and then add your RSS feed link to their aggregator program.

Yet, while this is a bit of internet technology that has been around for a few years, not many surfers of the internet may have such an aggregator installed on their systems.  And the ones that do have it installed probably would have had the aggregator installed for other reasons other than for job searching such as setting it up for stock quotes, Reuters news information or CNN news.

But whether such individuals already have an aggregator or feed reader installed on their systems or not, if they are already familiar with the technology concept and see such a link at your website, they will know exactly what to do with it.

RSS feeds are not automatically created by all users of I-Simply Recruit.  Only those Simple Solutions Software clients who currently have job posting capability and who also wish to publish the RSS link at their website.

Such a feed is not just useful for candidates looking for positions, but also for other recruiters who work for your firm, who may be working offsite in other branch offices around the country.
